This makes me think of the statement: Just because we can, it doesn’t mean we should. There are a lot of things in tech I feel this applies to.
That takes me back to Jurassic Park and Malcolm's rant about never stopping to ask if we should. The book sold the point better, but it still sticks out to me. And you're right applies just as well whether genetic engineering or AI development.
